Whitening Treatment
Experience beautiful results with our professional-grade whitening, designed to enhance your smile without damaging your natural teeth.
In-office teeth whitening treatments use hydrogen or carbamide peroxide gels, which release oxygen to break the chemical bonds in stain molecules on and beneath the tooth enamel. By breaking these bonds, the stains lose their color, resulting in a brighter, whiter smile
How it works:
1. Penetration of the Tooth
Both hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide are small molecules that can penetrate the enamel (the outer layer of the tooth) and reach the dentin (the inner, more porous layer).
- Hydrogen peroxide is the more potent and faster-acting agent.
- Carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea. It’s gentler and releases peroxide more slowly, making it ideal for longer sessions or at-home use.
2. Oxidation Reaction
Once inside the tooth, the peroxide releases oxygen molecules that break apart the chemical bonds of stain-causing compounds (like those from coffee, wine, or smoking). This chemical reaction is called oxidation.
- The stains are broken down into smaller, less pigmented molecules.
- These molecules reflect light better, making the teeth look whiter and brighter.
*Please note that not everyone is eligible for an express whitening, and suitability will be determined during your consultation.
FAQ
In-office teeth whitening treatments using hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide work by chemically breaking down stains on the surface and inside the tooth enamel.
- Higher concentrations of peroxide (15–40%) than at-home kits.
- Controlled environment: The dental professional isolates the gums and soft tissues to prevent irritation.
- May include light activation to speed up the whitening process.
Each session is customized to suit your unique smile. A full whitening treatment may include up to three sessions, each lasting between 10–20 minutes, depending on your individual needs and desired results.
Teeth whitening treatment may not be suitable for everyone. We can determine your eligibility during your cleaning appointment. If you're not scheduled for a cleaning, book a free consultation and we can discuss your options.
After treatment, it’s best to avoid eating or drinking anything (except water) for at least 30 minutes to let your enamel settle and get the most from your results.
For the next 24 hours, avoid foods and drinks that could stain your teeth. That includes:
Coffee, tea, red wine
Dark sodas and colored juices
Berries, tomato sauce, soy sauce, curry
Dark chocolate
Smoking or vaping
Most clients find the treatment completely comfortable with little to no pain. The formula is designed to be gentle on teeth while still delivering powerful results.
Some people may experience sensitivity during or shortly after the treatment, but it typically fades within a few days. We take every precaution to minimize sensitivity, and many clients feel no discomfort at all.
